Scottish National Standardised Assessments (SNSA)
Each year, S3 pupils in every school in Scotland are required to sit a set of standardised assessments. These tests are one of a range of tools that teachers have to plan your child's learning. We would be very grateful if you could discuss these tests with your child and explain how important it is that your child attends the assessments and tries their best.
There are three assessments - Reading, Writing and Numeracy and they are done in separate sessions.
In Gracemount High School the assessments will take place as follows:
- 27th and 28th August 2019
- 10th and 11th September 2019
Your child will be given a slip advising them of the exact day, time and location of their assessment, but you can also check this by clicking on the Timetable "Download" link below.
All assessments are done online so pupils will sit them in the Business Education and Computing Science corridor. They are also adaptive which means that the assessment adapts the questions as the pupil sits it so they are at the most appropriate level for your child.
The Support for Learning Department will also offer support during these assessments to any pupil who may require it.
Each assessment normally takes less that 45 minutes and pupils will sit them with the rest of their tutor group, unless they have alternative arrangements.
